It is coming up. 2 weeks away to be exact.
I ran outside for the first time today and it was not successful, well not successful as runs go but it was a good time with Olivia.
I have been running and elipticalling (I made that word up-Nice huh?) for the last 6 weeks. In some aspects I can feel the improvement but after today I see I need more running time. I am not sure how much I can improve in the next 2 weeks but I will take whatever I can and keep on working.
Hint 1-No drinking parties the night before.
Hint 2-No donuts on the drive to the race.
Hint 3-Drink Click!
Today I decided to run while Olivia rode her bike. We have done that before and had a great time but today she was a bit whiny. She has been giving me the serious guilt about never seeing me and I work too much. Sorry kid but Santa does have a full time job. I thought we could get out and do something as Ava was doing boy stuff with Dad and Grampa. It turned out OK but I ended up dumping her bike downtown and piggy-backing her back to Gramma's house.
On my way back down to get her bike in my car I measured it and it was about 2 miles of running and walking and a little over a 1/2 mile with a 55lb kid on my back.
If that isn't a workout I don't know what is.

A successful run is not as important as a good time with the kid. And with a kid not on your back, you'll be fine during the Mashpee FF 5K.
We're there for Steve (and the beer), right? I'll be there cheering you on!
