Who would know that my favorite place it tucked in behind this beautiful Cape Cod house? Hopefully not many. That way I can keep it to myself and a few others.
I sadly did not get myself snowshoes this year and we have received more snow than I can remember. I just decided to drive out there and see what the situation was.
I am so glad I did. The paths were 1 single file but pressed down enough that I sunk in about an inch. I took the left path on the way in just go I could follow these prints. Soon this animal headed down to the beach and I hooked a right back to the main road to the beach and the knob.
I spent a decent amount of time stopping, looking, photographing and just enjoying the beauty. I was grouchy and needed to just see the quiet gorgeous world around me.
I guess you could say I soaked it up. That is what it feels like to me when ever I hike in the woods. I just feel like a sponge. I may not know what leaf that is or what paw print that was but I love it all just the same. I want to stop and listen to the sounds of the water, the rustling of the trees or grass and smell, just smell.
I decided to take a ride once I left here through Woods Hole and along the Road Race route. I smiled at the mile markers and though to myself. I am going to run these this year. I say that with nervousness and excitement but I really do want to run it this year.
Sadly when I got home I started to feel like I was coming down with something so my hope of bringing the kids back to hike it were replaced with a nap but maybe the weekend.
