Dad bought her a glove and bat for her birthday and we have played a bit here and there.
Mom is not a sports person. First of all I am a clutzy and expect to be hit in my "good" eye with the ball and blind forever. Also Ava is a pretty good hitter so the chances of this are good.
Anyway a short little program opened at the Rec and she joined. We didn't make the 1st round due to other plans so I signed her up for the 2nd session.
Last night was the 1st night.
All the other kids were already there and in their shirts. Ava jumped right in. She knew a few friends there already. She is great like that. She threw, caught, hit and gave us tons of thumbs up.
So at the end I walk up to the coach and ask where Ava would go to get a shirt. He says she should already have one. I'm like well today is her 1st day.
He says are you in the 2nd session because that starts next week.
Um, Strike one for the Scatterbrained Mom. He says no big deal she got an extra day by being here for session 1's last practice. Whoops!
So he says hold on and hands her a shirt.

See you next week.
