Greatest idea ever for school vacation-Let's go roller skating.
I haven't been in years and we used to go all the time in High school. It was what you did on a Friday night before drivers licenses.
Shaky-Yes but had a great time. They had these helpers for rent like above. This was a great idea for Ava to build some confidence. Also both girls switched to roller blades because they do it around the house and felt more comfortable on them. All our regular friends went so that made it even better. There were people at all levels of comfort but no one was really an expert. Perfect.
Ava even took some spins without the "helper".
Of course it wouldn't be a FB trip without some excitement. Just about at the end of our time there I am in line waiting for some food at the snack bar and out of no where I just drop. Like flat on my back and smash my head on the floor. I got myself up and took the skates off for the rest of the time. Held the ice pack on various parts that hurt and swelled up. The next day the brain still felt more out of whack than normal so I headed to the Doctor. Apparently I have a mild concussion. Yay me.
It is days later and I am surprised at how I still feel.
My body is out of whack and I am hoping the chiropractor will help me with that today but the brain is what I don't understand. I am sensitive to certain noises and light and randomly dizzy. I also have a tightness in my head like someone is pulling my hair.....all the time.
I have learned one thing. Brains are finicky and take time to feel better.
Also next time I may need elbow and knee pads and a full skater helmet.
