Ducks in a row

I think I am a visual blogger. My posts don't feel complete until I can add photos to show you what I am thinking . This picture turns out to be perfect. The ducks aren't exactly in a perfect row and of course there is a climb to get there. perfect analogy for my life.

I am finally feeling like I am getting some things together. I have long struggled with the thought that living life and enjoying your kids comes before a clean house. My house is far from clean but I just can not relax in a filthy house. For a long time I would take my kids out to do fun stuff because if we stayed home I would be folding laundry, doing dishes, anything not to be sitting on the couch looking around at work that needed to be done.
I am better about that but mostly because I have thrown in the towel. I just can't do everything. I am a 1 woman show but for some reason I think I am a 3 women show.
Anyway, I make plans, lists, ideas on how to get it more in order. Then I get busy, plans change, tired, lose the list. I truly believe I am ADD, scatter brained and just plan old so all good plans go to the shitter and then I feel like I have failed.
I am here to say I have succeeded in the start to a couple of things to get my shit together.
1.Open a Christmas club account. I refuse to feel like I can't produce a decent Christmas for the kids again. I am depositing a little bit of money every 2 weeks and it should dump a small nest egg into my account in October.
2. Started the Couch to 5K with Tomora the other day. Yes, I know I am only 1 day in but it is something I have been wanting to get back to and maybe with someone else involved we can motivate each other when the going leans towards quitting.
3. Worked a few overtime shifts added to the Holiday pay and I might actually get half caught up.
Now if I can get some paperwork together for the kids insurance and my oil budget I would be happy as shit. Sometimes it is the small things.
The big thing really is the clarity of my brain lately. I have not set any goals in a long time. I have been just doing what I have to do to get to tomorrow. That ain't no Fun! Tough part about this is that I have been blowing shit off for so long I have a backlog.
I need to make some calls and get working on about 100 Pinterest projects. I mean those cupcake curtains aren't going to sew themselves.
I have missed my happy self tremendously.

I could have written this post myself! Certainly the bit about going out to do stuff, anyway. My kids definitely get my best attention when we're out cause I CAN NOT BEAR a messy house... And with a 10 year old and a 1.5 year old... Yeah, dream on!
