I have got to be one of the hardest people on myself in the whole wide World.
I set high expectations and don't give myself a break. Almost ever.
I'm working on it~Trust me.
About a gazillion years ago I jumped on the bandwagon to run this 5K. I was in a running class and really working on exercising on other days during the week so at the time I figured why not. Since my schedule change on October 1st I have slowed down to zero. I want to work exercise in after work and as far as I have gotten is leaving clothes in a locker about 20ft from the treadmill. Hey, it's a baby step right?
Well yesterday was D-day. I paid (I hate to waste money) so I had to run it. Nice number right?
ON the way to the race I was swearing under my breathe at the guy who chose to drive the legal speed limit all the way to the start but I guess he was a gift to keep me in line. My heart was beating and I was thinking of reasons to bail out. Where was the rain, damn it??
So without further ado-I ran/walked it.
My finish time 39 min and about 8 seconds. I'll take it.
I wanted in my head to not cross 40minutes so there-Done and done.
I am taking Motrin today as my body hurts but nothing worth doing isn't without some pain.
Now after I work this weeks overtime maybe I can get those clothes on and get on the treadmill for a few days after work.
