I was concerned about the quality of the photo with the sun streaming thru but the fact of the matter is-Who Cares! The sun is out and we need to bask in it's glory.
I also love the fact that the girls set up our deer to be smooching.
The last few days have been kinda.......I don't know.
I am finally feeling normal after a couple of OT shifts that resulted in a 26hr marathon with a Teacher conference in the middle. Yeah, you can imagine how I looked. I am surprised they didn't suggest a short visit to the Funny Farm for me.
I don't feel like anything came of that conference and the Doctors appointment that followed. I did learn that Olivia is smart and in a fairly normal range in terms of education as long as you can keep her engaged. Every person who evaluated her said the same thing. She is inconsistent, has a problem staying focused and paying attention. She also craves attention and 1 on 1 contact. One of the big things I am learning is alot of her issues are being used to get this attention. The school is going to try to turn this on her. She will be rewarded with 1:1 only if she completes her work instead of the opposite. They are going to play her game in reverse. I hope it works.
We need to turn this around at home as well. I want her to succeed and have the feeling that she can do it.
A counselor she will start seeing says we need her to take responsibility for her own actions and not even acknowledge the wrong actions. That is harder than you can imagine. Ignore the accidents? I see a lot of teeth grinding in my future.
So after all this typing and re-reading I guess I did accomplish something. It is going to take some time but you can't expect to fix a problem that has been happening for 2 yrs in 2 appointments I guess.
