"What day is it~Tuesday? You know the days off are good when you don't know what day it is."
It was a good mix of days without children, days with the kids and fun with friends.
Tired+Smiling=Good
Sunday included some cookie baking with the girls and the completion of my new "den". I can't seem to come up with a proper name for this room and "den" seems like it would be full of plaid furniture and a moose head on the wall. Now understand I had to put on the giant overhead light to get the cell phone photo but I added some smaller lamps and candles to make it not so Department store bright. I also plan on removing the camping chairs and such. I am in the market for some more furniture if you know of any looking for a new home. I need a coffee table or ottoman to rest my feet, it is a relaxation room you know. I may even add a cheap carpet to cover the tile in the center and get rid of the echo. I have succeeded so far in keeping it a toy free zone besides a few Scooby Doo movies they watched while I worked.
Monday was a crappy and damp day so for some ungodly reason I thought we could hit the road for some school shopping if I bargained a trip to Check E. Cheese for lunch.Sunday included some cookie baking with the girls and the completion of my new "den". It turned out to be a huge success, maybe it was the threat of no Chuck in their future but we rolled through Target and even tried on clothes without any bumps. Score $7 jeans for the girls!
Off to Chuck E. Cheese. A huge Thank You to Tomora, Michael and the boys as we used Ava's gift certificate and coupons to get a pizza, 4 drinks and 100 tokens for about $10. I explained we would play until the gold tokens ran out and then we were leaving. When I handed out the last of the tokens I braced myself for the wrath and was pleasantly surprised to get-OK, Mama when I said it was time to cash out.
I am not sure where these Stepford children came from but Thanks to whoever traded them for me. Then again Cotton Candy makes me smile too. From here I figured I would really push the envelope and headed over to Savers in New Bedford. I love Savers as it is cheap, recycles and usually I can find a deal or two. On this day we were able to score 3 more pairs of jeans, a fleece lined hooded sweatshirt and a pair of snow pants for Olivia. I got a shirt for my night out(more on that later) and a winter jacket. Oh and did I mention a Schwinn bike for Olivia~All for the low, low price of $36. You can't beat that with a stick.
So after reading this post a few times for spelling and grammar mistakes I realize why I am so very tired tonight. I am heavily leaning on 2 large Starbucks coffees I purchased on the way in but also the memories of this awesome weekend.
Come on Saturday, you can't come fast enough!
