Weekend Wrap up

Those of you that know me in the real world know that lately it has been pretty stressful around here. The kids are acting like children I don't recognize sometimes, I am learning to live a different life and basically it has been pretty sucky.
I had planned to go to NH to visit my family who were in 2 time share condos and told us they had room to squeeze us in. The girls were so excited to go that they nearly exploded and were up until 10pm and their room was a mess. Poor Nana was dealing with this tornado while I was at work.
The next morning I sent them to school. I felt like crap but I didn't know what else to do. I am sick of them acting like animals and I swore if they didn't behave they were not going.
Instead I made a compromise with myself. When I picked up Ava half way through the day I had the car packed and I dismissed Olivia. She didn't know this was happening so she when she got to the car and saw the bags and bikes she flipped.
Yes, we went to NH.
On the way up we made a pit stop to see my Dad. We don't see enough of my Dad so that was a short but good visit. Ava wanted to steal his dog Charlie and bring him home.
It ended up being the best time we have had in a long time, too long of a time. My family fed us a great dinner on Thursday and we swam until they were wet noodles. Friday we headed off the the Funstop and played games and rode the bumper cars. It took a ton of money but they each left with a little prize and a pair of fangs.Saturday we were on our way home and I thought it would be cool to check out Canobie Lake Park. We used to go there when I was a kid with my Dad. What a great idea that turned out to be. We rode every ride that we could and some a couple of times. We even rode the giant Boston Tea Party log ride and got soaked to our underwear. It was aweseome!!! We will definitely go back in the Summer so we can do the water park which was not open yet.
So in the end it has been decided that they are adjusting the best that they can. We need to make sure we let go of the small stuff and that we have fun. I write a newsletter of kid friendly events and I am not even doing any kid friendly events for God's sake! So tomorrow Ava and I are off to the Library for a 10am craft and book reading.
Mr. FB had his surgery Thursday and is doing well. He can't drive for a couple of weeks so I may be calling on my friends as a back up if I get into any emergencies.
Also make sure you message me if you want to jump on the next trip to Canobie Lake Park I think we may need to rent a bus!
