We were able to fit in some fun trips that included the Boston Children's Museum on Thursday. We used a library pass so we saved a decent amount of money. I would recommend this to anyone planning a trip to a museum and having a library card.
We headed out a bit later than we wanted but it wouldn't be a trip with 3 small kids without a few bumps.
This is the view when you enter the lobby. My girls could have stayed in here for hours. It is a mog pog of wavy platforms that work there way around and to the 3rd floor of the museum. It is all wrapped in this wire bag to keep everyone from falling out. In some places the opening was a thin opening that the kids had to slither through and others that were angled to almost a slide. Cool is the best way to describe it. We ended up starting on the third floor and making our way back down. We started in a room all about trees. This included a giant acorn you could go inside and a tree that the kids could climb in and around to learn all about the insides of a tree. Above is Carlie holding a giant egg. There were even leather twigs the kids could gather.Next we hit Peep's Big World. This a terrific show on Channel 2 that all of our kids watch or have watched as Olivia is too old for that now! She did enjoy the display though. It was a giant river table that the kids could play in. This was another place we had to drag the kids out of.
Ava and Carlie with Chirp. After lunch we headed back in the climbing thing in the lobby and then to the bubble room. The museum was closing early for New Year's Eve so we decided to end our day in the Bubble room. This meant missing some of the rooms on the second floor but all in all it was a great time. This is the face I got when asked for 1 photo of the girls together after a great day. They would have slept over in that climber if I had let them.
Moments after we got there it started to snow. I, being the excellent planner that I am, never looked at the weather or thought about the fact that we would be leaving Boston during rush hour on New Year's Eve. We came out of the tunnel and into the Route 3 parking lot. We hopped in the HOV and that got us by a bit of it but the rest was a leisurely 25-30 MPH trip home. It was OK with me. I got to chat with my friend Bonnie and the kids vegged out after a long day.
We have been trying to get to the movies with the girls for over a week but it never seems to pan out. Friday it worked out. We went to the Falmouth Cinema Pub to see Alvin and the Chipmunks Sqeakquell. The 1:10pm showing worked out as we were able to have some lunch and watch the Chipmunks. It was great for Ava as it helped keep her in her seat and she just kept telling us how the movie "Cracked her up".
If only she knew how much it cracks me up to hear her say that.
