Friday

Friday Olivia had a Doctor's Appointment at South Shore Hospital so she got to have a Foose Holiday of sorts. The appointment was at 11:30 so no need to even sent her to school for 20 minutes and after lunch and a trip to the Hilltop Steak House Store we were not even back on the Cape until 3:30.
After a great follow up where they decided we don't need to come back-Yahoo! we headed out for some lunch. I decided to bargain-If you can be good in the meat store I will take you to Claire's to spend your gift certificate. By the way, this bribing thing is turning out pretty successful lately. You do for me and I will do for you. In fact she got into a bit of trouble and I had to take away the brand new Claire's stuff. Ouch-there is an up side and a down side to this bargaining agreement.
I found a Hilltop Steak House store in Weymouth and I was glad I did. I spent $70 and left with 6 bags of meat and veggies. Strip steaks were beautiful and $2.99/lb so I had to get about 3 packages. I also left with salmon, a whole chicken, a pork roast, boneless chicken tenders, zucchini, mushrooms and both summer and winter squash. It was a good haul that bulked up my freezer nicely.
Once home it was a quick switch of gears as we had plans to go to the Brazilian Grill with my best friends. Half way thru the day I had to work hard at letting go and just planning on having fun. I was beginning to feel stress about what food choices I was going to make and that can quickly ruin my fun. In the end I think I did OK. I ate Butternut Bisque while I walked around the giant buffet and oohed and aahed over all the good food. This kept me from getting anything except a few mozzarella balls on the corner of Earl's plate.

I stuck with just the meat delivered by the Gaucho's. See below.
When the dessert cart came around it had about 12-15 of the best dessert I may have ever seen in my life or at least it felt like that. On another good note we both passed. The only bad part was I did not drink at all-anything-to avoid any dumping or ill feeling. The down side was I was as thirst as a camel when I got home and have been drinking ever since. Scale is not so good today. I am hoping to continue to drink gallons and flush this crap out by Monday's weigh in.
Although I did not make a New Year's Resolution this would be something I would like add to my life this year-Fun, dates with my hubby and friends ~ especially if they include music, great food and conversation.
