Point Sebago

Where to begin??
To start off we left a day early with no place to stay on 4th of July weekend.
Good move???
Maybe not to some but we were traveling with 4 campers and 15 people. We made our own party folks. We rolled into Super Walmart in Windham Maine with a locked up caliper that was smoking. So not a good start but Super Dad came packing a large bag of tools and his heavy duty jack. So after a short trip to NAPA we had the truck back and running. A thunder storm came and we all got under the awning, cooked some dinner and tried to stay dry. Thank you Barry for the weather updates-they helped tremendously.
I know what you are thinking-Yes we are still in a Walmart parking lot but we made the best of it.The next day we checked in and got right to the business of camping.
We were all camped right in a row so it was great for the kids to be able to run back and forth and we always had an eye on them. The kids had a ball riding their bikes around the circle while we made dinner. One night Ava even took off on her own. I followed on the opposite side and got some photos of her while she thought she was Thelma or Louise.
Some of our group entered into a ton of activities but feeling more like winding down I mostly just rolled to the beach everyday.
The 4th of July activities were put off until Tuesday as Saturday was too busy with people checking in and setting up. I think they do a terrific July 4th celebration with a carnival that starts at 6pm with games, face painting and jumpy toys as well as live music.
They had a bike and golf cart parade on Thursday which luckily happened after the 2 days of rain passed. This was great and they even gave out ribbons and trophies for the best spirit and decoration.I enjoy camp cooking. We are not over the campfire cookers but we do it all on our Coleman stove and grill outside. These pancake molds made for a fun breakfast more than 1 time. We also started our week with some lobster, fish and corn on the cob. After that we mostly pooled our food together and ate as an army battalion with 12-15 per meal. It was interesting and delicious.
We did have 2 full days of rain in the middle of the week which really tested our resolve. We decided by Wednesday afternoon if it didn't clear up we would head out on Thursday for a McDonald's or Friendlies run just to get out. I don't mind the rain but it dropped to about 57 degrees so 2 nights we actually put the heat on to get the chill off.
We even had 2 fantastic trash bag models under our awning:It appears as if I took 40,000 pictures but I didn't. I tried to just chill out. We played some Bingo (which I am proud to say I won $46 one round), we saw a hilarious comedy show and I even joined the Parent/child washer tosser tournament which we would have won if I didn't suck so bad. Olivia was killing a kid twice her age but I just couldn't score.
There are many more stories but I can't remember them all now and some deserve their own post so I will update as I remember and assemble the photos.
I am thinking the War Canoe Race needs to be shared although Mr FB will not be happy.
We finished up the trip by blowing the starter in the truck in my In-laws driveway while we unloaded so Mr. Fooseberry started and ended his vacation with greasy hands but a smile on his face.
-On a side note I did recently receive a nasty comment about one of my children on my Photobucket account so I have left the Sebago photos unlocked for you to see if you click on the slide show at the bottom but I won't leave it open for long. It creeped me out and I don't wish to expose them or myself to such people.
