Today was supposed to be the best day of the week and it certainly will be hard to beat weatherwise. I wanted to check Cadillac off the list early so it wouldn't be missed and I wanted the best views ever. It ended up being a very good idea as I found the trail down the back of Dorr was quick while dry and the .6 mile trail up Cadillac was a lot of stone scrambling which took a lot of concentration to get past the fear and I would never have been able to do it if wet.
My original plan hadn't been to take the Kurt Diedrich climb but now that my legs and I would like to say thanks. I included multiple stair photos because pretty much that was the entire climb but they were well built and sturdy.
My whole day was ruled by these 3 things-Foliage, cairns and the blue blaze and I am happier for it.
Dorr Mountain....Mount Dorr. Call it what you will, it was beautiful.
This is the where I am headed after here-Cadillac. It's hard to tell from here but those little things on top are people. I would like to add if you did not walk up but drove maybe you should defer your spot in line for the ladies room to the chick who did.
Turns out actual Summit is out behind the gift shop and most people don't even know so with the help of a couple they found it and offered to take my picture. They get it!!
I am not sure if it is clear but the stone that looks like a river flowing is the trail and is marked by Cairns. This isn't a bad view for a while and gradual hiking.
The Canon brook trail has to be one of my all time favorite hikes now. It was beautiful.
I took these 2 photos maybe 50 feet apart. The color change was amazing.
Thank you Mr. Kane because I quite enjoyed finishing my hike walking along these stepping stones along this lake. It felt like I was walking on water.
