Monday was the day that Lilly was going in for her X-rays. I figured her day was going to be full of naps after so if I wanted to walk her I would have to get out early.
So before I dropped her off I took her for a short fun run through River Bend Conservation area which is right around the corner from our house. It just might be her new favorite spot. It has some trails and a river which I think she would like to wade in in warmer weather. Today we enjoyed it as the snow began to fall again.
I stopped to take her picture on these planks thinking how pretty is was only to realize she was only stopped out of panic. She looked at me like what now?
After signing the dreaded waiver about anesthesia I had to get lost myself. She wouldn't be ready for pick up until at least 3pm so I knew I had time.
I decided to head to Long Pond but entered by the Service Rd on Brick Kiln Rd. I am loving this section with its tall trees and the old car left in the woods from what seems like a millions years ago.
Once in the main part of Long Pond I was still in my head. The chatter was ridiculous and incessant. I used a term in a conversation with a friend which I think fits it perfectly. I walk to "leave it in the woods". It usually works but today not so much.
The weather started out Wintery and changed to rain which I think I got a break from as the canopy diffused it a little. I also had a decent set-up for clothes so I was warm and dry at least on the inside.
I really didn't know how heavily it was raining until I was back out on the road walking to my car.
I look at this picture and laugh really. Trying to make myself be positive. Like you are in the woods, everything is supposed to be all happy go lucky girl.
After a few minutes drive I got the phone call from the Vet with not so great news about Lilly and I lost it. I guess I was more worried than I even realized.
