I know it's silly to repeat it but really I love these 2 crazy kids. I hope beyond hope that as I learn to live a happier, more peaceful life that I teach them to do the same. I was driving home yesterday and said you know what I want you to love being out in nature like I do. You maybe don't right now but I am sacrificing part of my life to be able to spend it with you. That means you will need to do something I like to do. No complaining because I know you will love it too once you give it a chance. It is tough to take kids who like TV and video games and make them understand the beauty of finding a random flower in the woods or the chance time when the color of the ocean exactly matches the color of the sky so it appears to go on forever but I will keep trying.
So yes I will buy tickets to the movies as long as we can go to the drive-in and see the stars while we are doing it.
I will pay for a cabin instead of a tent when we camp as long as we can hike and see waterfalls.
I will search for the books so we can all cram into Olivia's bed together and read the books from your Summer reading list.
I have dreams for a fun Summer, an epic Summer actually but I hope cautiously. We will do the best we can with an upside down schedule. The most important part is that we can do it together.
This afternoon was a perfect beginning. The weather was absolutely amazing and it seemed every kid we knew was there. Happy Mama's everywhere.
