After seeing some friends on Facebook take the plunge I decided we should go and check it out. My plan was to also try to catch this Paintscape light show in the center of Sandwich but we couldn't make that. Too late and no parking. The kids were exhausted and salty from the ocean so we skipped it.
This is the view of the Boardwalk from the parking lot. As you can see it is a busy place at high tide. They have built a platform on both sides with 2 ladders to climb back up.
The girls dilly-dallied around and Ava was a quick No Way. Olivia thought about it and so I ran back to the car and put my bathing suit on. We will do it together.Yeah, that ended up being Mom jumping alone.
I did it to show her I could, would and she should. I thought she might if I did it but sadly no. She climbed down to the water a couple times and eventually she asked me to and we jumped off the ladder together.
That water is cold.
That was all she needed. Mom, I almost downed.
No matter to me I did it a couple times and that was awesome. I was scared but this 41 year old woman jumped in like the teenagers did and lived to tell about it.
We walked the rest of the way to the ocean and played in the water until the sun went behind the trees. It was beautiful to see the other side of Cape Cod but boy is their water cold.
On the way home I am still going on and on and I was reminded that "I" thought it was fun but they did not.
I quickly reminded them that I do things all the time that they think is fun but maybe I don't. Once in a while you need to do something mom thinks is fun.
Grumps!
