New Bedford Whaling Museum and much more

It was a celebration for Right Whale day and the 1st day of April vacation. The weather was beautiful. I had worked a Midnight shift and wasn't sure this was a good idea but I had a plan to abort the minute I felt overcooked. Surprisingly that never happened.
I am so happy to be at a place where the kids can enjoy things and I forget how new the World is to them. The fishing boats, buildings painted with whales and cobble stone streets were all so interesting to them. I feel like lately I am giving a history lesson about the places we are going. That is a sure sign we are doing the right things isn't it?
I will admit I did not get a deep look at the Museum as i am experiencing these things on a 9 and 6 year old level but I tried to explain the ships, weapons and fishing industry as best as I could.
In addition to the regular museum they had some special things going on for the Right Whale celebration. They had a big blow up whale and from inside all Ava did was run back and forth and yell "I am being digested!"  so at least she got that. :)
Outside they had games to play but they showed the effects of litter in the water, oil damage to dolphins and entanglement.

While we were up on the observation deck I was explaining the sea wall to the kids and decided to drive them to it to see it in real size. So that took us into a part of New Bedford that I have never been. Before I got worried it turned into a great side adventure.
We got a "Dawg Box" lunch of 3 hot dogs and fries at a hole in the wall called Naughty Dog and ate in the car. This place happened to be right across the street from this:

I know that I am including a ton of pictures but I want a good clear memory book for the kids and myself. I am so happy where our life is right now and I just hope they feel the same as I do. I frequently hear "this is the best day of my life" so I guess so.
After a quick nap we finished our day at Beebe Woods. Man o Man is Ava logging some miles and we have many more to go this week. Very proud of her for working so hard to reach the highest goal she can.
