Boston Museum of Science/Family Reunion

Let me introduce you to Dinosaur Fu-fu. She came with us to the Museum so she could meet her family or so the story goes in Ava's eyes.
This trip was the 1 big thing I had on my Summer bucket list and I wanted to get there before the Dinosaur exhibit and the Butterfly house left.

As usual I got one of the best photos from the parking garage-lol. I love the city.
We hit the Museum at a perfect time 11:30. We had lunch and were in by Noon. I had to drag them out by 5:45 while they spun around in the rotating doors in front.
I was worried that the Museum would be "too old" but we had an awesome time. We made our way to the 3rd floor first as we booked tickets to the next 3D movie about a T-Rex named Sue. This means we were able to play with science experiments that afforded the chance to run, jump and spin as fast as we could. It was designed to look like a yard and was called Backyard Science. Part of it was a segment on gears where the girls could change wheels and race. Here Ava told me her car needed a repair and she was a mechanic like Dad.

The movie explained all about how dinosaur bones are recovered from the ground and even I learned a ton. They were just excited to wear the glasses.

Here she is meeting her family!!
This is the regular Dinosaur exhibit. They had a special temporary one with multiple skulls, footprints and bones but they would not allow photos in that exhibit.

We zig-zagged back and forth to see a chick hatch from it's shell to our chance to get into the Butterfly House. Most of the pictures taken of the butterflies were taken by Ava.
Just as I was cruising the map to make sure we had seen it all I noticed there was a Lightning show at 4pm and thought this would be a good idea for 2 girls who are terrified of lightning to learn about it. This could go very well or horribly wrong with 2 girls hugging my legs and weeping. I am happy to say they loved it. Olivia kept showing me how she didn't need to cover her ears and they both claim to be Lightning Lovers like their Mom. We will see the next bedtime that comes with Boomers.
What a terrific day. I had more photos but Blogger doesn't want to cooperate right now so I may add more later.  It was cool to see how so much of it hadn't changed since I was a kid but how interesting it was still.
Excellent memories were made this day!
