The girls and I headed to Lowe's today for a few odds and ends. I had never been to a Lowe's but heard a lot of people like it. I am not sure-I may still be a Home Depot kind of girl.I also gathered some paint cards in hopes of fixing up the living room. I would prefer to bring in a bulldozer and knock down the wall to the kitchen but Figgie says that is not going to happen for under a million bucks.
After moving the doorway and the plaster never getting finished I am now living with a wall that is scarred with unpainted and unsanded plaster and holes that were caused by my old reclining couch. My thought is fresh paint and then wainscoting to cover the damage and add some beauty. I am also throwing around the idea of painting the fireplace mantel white so it is a seamless flow around the room with the wainscoting.
The kids are with Dad for a few so I thought this may be a good time to play the music loud and tackle this project. Anybody want to help? I will need some painters and someone to run the blender. Painting makes a girl thirsty you know.

I think thats a great Idea! I just painted my mantle white and I think it updated the room and now it is beautiful! Go for it! It is just paint and you can always go over it again! And I think projects are a girls best friend. I would volunteer, but I am "projecting" my own sad around the house also!
(PS I left a comment so I wouldnt be blog1stalking! lol)
