I prepared for the worst and fed and dressed the kids to go to the Harvest festival. We didn't go last year and I basically got chewed out by my daughter after. This year I figured we would try it with a child that is in the tub and ready for bed at 6:30pm which is when it started.
She was a complete crab before we left and I threatened no festival and no trick or treating about half a dozen times and immediately got "Sorry Mom-I am good."
Funny thing is she was good when we got there-It was the getting there is all.
The place was mobbed and we were actually in a line out the door. It only cost $1 a person but they must have played a dozen games including eating donuts off a string and we didn't even see the arts and crafts until almost 8 o'clock. It was a lot of fun and great to see all of their friends in costume and not in the pitch dark.
More exciting fun tomorrow.
I plan on running in the Mashpee Firefighters 5K in the morning then we are headed to Mashpee Commons to march in the parade and start some trick or treating.
Evening plan is to of course go to some houses at Ava's request. " Mom, When do we go to the houses?" I am trying to get her to politely say Trick or Treat and skip the whole "smell my feet ..... something underwear" that they all came home from school saying today. After I said no one would give her candy if she was rude she dumped that. Let's hope it sticks.
Off to get some sleep so I don't come in exactly last out of 500 runners.
