Falmouth Road Race

Yes, I ran. I thought " Why not?" This is gonna make or break me.

I had a number and I could walk, and walk I did. I had to walk a lot of the last 2 miles as I haven't officially run since my last 5K race in May.
After crossing the finish line I was quite disappointed with myself because I was so worn out and wanted to do better. Due to the staggered start all the clocks along the way were about 15 minutes more than my actual time so I looked at my own watch at start and finish to get an estimate until the Road Race published the actual times. I figure I was about 1hr 45 minutes.
Last night I was pleasantly surprised to see that my time had only increased about 8 minutes over last year.

My cheering section was just before the finish line with signs and yelling for Mom which was great. I crossed just after an 80 yr old man so they were reading his name and congratulating him-note his arm in the air.

Yes, that is always good for your confidence-AFTER the 80 yr old man. Oh well, I did it. Better luck next year.

I am so proud of you, you are probably tired of hearing it. I am so sorry I missed you.

I am exhausted today, and wish I was not working.

See you at the next 5k!

I agree with Gia and FBF, I'm so proud of you that you ran the race! Which is a whole lot more than I can say for myself. I stood at the finish line thinking "whoosh...it's getting hot", how pathetic is that?? All of you are inspiring me to reconsider by dislike of running 8>)

As I was laying on the beach towel next to your daughter, I have nothing but praise that you ran. I'm getting kudos for knowing someone ran and I can tell you everyone at my work is amazed. Good woman!!!!!Love, Mom

I am still laughing about the 80 year old. I once had two 70 year olds blow past me and finish way ahead of me when I was in my early 50's. Ya just have to bow down to those marvels.
Congrats big time on your finish. Now you can rest up on your girls only trip. Have a wonderful time.
