We left on vacation and have been busy ever since. I spent a lot of time this past weekend pulling out a bunch of grass as it is growing faster than any vegetables.
At first I had wanted to make a raised or even sort of boxed in garden to give it a clean edge and try to control some of the weeds but that never happened so now I have this gross semi-garden.
I never knew how dry and rocky the dirt was either so the quality of my veggie is not going to be good I am afraid. I did pull up some leaves and catch a glimpse of some small little cucumbers and a handful of cherry tomatoes.
Rain is supposed to come so maybe that will help.
Do you think I can still add some sides and ramp this half hearted garden up or am I doomed for this year?
I need to go to some links on Frost Bottom farm's site for some advice.

You could probably add some mulch around the plants to hold some moisture. A bale of straw (not hay) should do the trick. Welcome to the glacial cat box that is the Cape Cod garden.
i was just going to suggest a bale of straw when I read Barry's post! Waqoit feed and Grain carries it. The plants look healthy!
