Mashpee Woodlands

I didn't realize this was a Land of Trustees property. I had heard it was a nice piece of property and most of it looked like it would have a river view.
I was a little uncomfortable hiking here knowing some history of loitering in the parking lot. Sadly this may have tainted today's hike. I couldn't shake the bag ju-ju.

The forest was beautiful. Large trees including this neat one.
It weaved in and out along the river with a few places for Likly to get muddy and then clean her paws again.
We stopped to take a rest and have a drink and encountered a man. Lilly didn't care for him so Inpacked up and we moved along. Unfortunately we had to go farther into the woods to lop back around and head back out. I found I was close to a popular parking area and that explained the gentleman who seemed to come from no where. We also passed a very friendly mountain biker enjoying the trails.
It ended up being 3 miles out and back. I am glad I experienced it but probably wouldn't do but again. I am rarely ever nervous or feel unsafe but this place just wasn't for me.

  1. I used to go there a lot, and to other locations in town. No more for me, thanks.
Sad because there is a lot of nice land.
